Welcome

The Southwest Teachers of Psychology (SWTOP) is an organization of instructors of psychology at the university, community college, and high school levels. SWTOP hosts an annual conference that allows these teaching professionals the free exchange of philosophies, research, and instructional materials for the teaching of psychology in an informal, collegial, and supportive atmosphere. The SWTOP membership overlaps partially with that of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, APA Division II.

Our flagship event is the annual conference. The 2008 SWTOP conference is your opportunity to share your teaching experiences, discover new ways to approach the classroom, and meet people with a passion for teaching psychology.

2008 Conference Keynote Speaker

This years keynote speaker is Dr. David G. Myers, Professor of Psychology at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Dr. Myers is author of several popular general interest books including Intuition: Its Powers and Perils and The Pursuit of Happiness: Who Is Happy--and Why.
